How do I share my progress with my driving instructor?
- Click on ‘my learning’. You will see your eLearning subscriptions
- Click on the ‘manage’ link under ‘let your driving instructor view your progress’.
- The ‘your driving instructor’ screen appears. If your driving instructor has given you a referral code, enter it in the box and click ‘connect’.
I no longer wish to share my progress with my driving instructor. How do I disconnect my account from theirs?
- Click on ‘my learning’. You will see your eLearning subscriptions.
- Now click the ‘manage’ link under ‘let your driving instructor view your progress’. The ‘your driving instructor’ screen appears.
- Click on ‘disconnect’ to stop sharing progress with your instructor.
I’ve changed my driving instructor. Can I link my account to theirs?
Yes you can.
- Make sure you’ve disconnected your account from your previous driving instructor’s by following the steps above.
- Click on ‘my learning’. You will see your eLearning subscriptions
- Click on the ‘manage’ link under ‘let your driving instructor view your progress’.
- The ‘your driving instructor’ screen appears. Enter your new referral code in the box and click ‘connect’.
How do I share my progress with my friends and family?
- Click on ‘my learning’. You will see your eLearning subscriptions.
- Now click the ‘manage’ link under ‘let your friends and family see how you’re getting on’.
- Enter the email address(es) of the people you’d like to share your progress with.
- Click ‘send invite’ after you enter each one.
Remember – you can invite up to 5 people.
How do I stop sharing my progress with my friends and family?
- Click on ‘my learning’. You will see your eLearning subscriptions.
- Now click the ‘manage’ link under ‘let your friends and family see how you’re getting on’. You will see a list of email addresses.
- Choose the person you’d like to stop sharing with by clicking the ‘Stop sharing’ button opposite their email address.
How do I manage my account settings?
- Click on the ‘person’ icon at the top of the screen. The icon will have your username next to it.
- The ‘my account’ screen will appear. You can change your name, email, password, social logins and marketing preferences by clicking the ‘change’ link next to each category.
There’s a link to a questionnaire in my account details. What does this mean?
As part of our commitment to providing the best products and services, we’re inviting you to tell us when you plan to take your theory test. We’ll use this information to gather data that helps us understand how long people take to complete their studies.
Providing us with this information is completely optional and will not have any impact on your existing subscription.
How do I view my order history?
- Click on the ‘person’ icon at the top of the screen. The icon will have your username next to it.
- The ‘My account’ screen will appear. Click on ‘view your order history’ to see a list of the orders you’ve made.
I’ve bought an eLearning subscription. Will it work on my device?
The Official DVSA eLearning courses are designed to work on most modern devices including tablets, desktop computers and smartphones.

Can I use this site to find an approved driving instructor?

Can I book my driving tests through this site?
No. The best way of booking your driving tests is to visit GOV.UK
- To book your theory test, go to: https://www.gov.uk/book-theory-test

ADI
How do I register for an account?
- You can create your free ADI account here.
- Enter your account details and then click 'I am a driving instructor or trainer'.
- Select what type of instructor or trainer you are.
- If you are an ADI/PDI, enter your ADI/PDI number. To safeguard students, we will need to verify your information. The average time for approval is 2 working days.
- Update your marketing preferences.
- Enter a password.
- Once verified, you’ll receive an email. Click the link to get full access to the site. You will be able to connect with pupils and see their scores.
How do I invite my pupils to share their progress with me?
- Click on ‘my pupils’.
- Click ‘more information’ under ‘invite pupils’. You will see a referral link and a unique referral code.
- Either copy the link and email it to your pupils or send them your referral code.
If you give printed materials to your pupils, you can also include the unique QR code symbol displayed at the bottom of the page.
How do I view my pupils' active subscriptions?
Click on ‘my pupils’. You will see a list of your pupils and the eLearning courses they are subscribed to.
I no longer wish to view the progress of my pupil's. How do I disconnect my account from theirs?
- Click on ‘my pupils’.
- Click the name of the pupil you’d like to disconnect your account from.
- Click the ‘disconnect’ button.
REMEMBER – if you do this you will no longer be able to view that pupil’s progress. If you need to reconnect your account, you must send another invite.
What are referral points?
You’ll earn points every time your pupils use your referral code to buy their first Safe Driving for Life eLearning subscription. This applies to Official DVSA Theory Test Kit for Car Drivers and Official DVSA Guide to Hazard Perception only.
You can redeem these points for Amazon Gift Cards. The more points you accumulate, the higher the value of the card.
How are points awarded?
Points are awarded based on the subscription and duration purchased by your pupil. For example:

30 days = 3 points
90 days = 5 points
365 days = 10 points
Official DVSA Guide to Hazard Perception:
30 days = 3 points
90 days = 5 points
365 days = 10 points
How many points do I need to claim an Amazon Gift Card?
The following table shows the relationship between the number of points earned and the value of the card you can claim.

How do I redeem my referral points?
- Click on ‘my pupils’, then click on the ‘redeem points’ link. You will see a list of points you have earned.
- Click the ‘redeem’ button.
How do I view my point redemption history?
- Click on ‘my pupils,’ then click on the ‘redeem points’ link.
Your point redemption history will be displayed below the list of referral points.

Friends and family
My friend/family member has shared their learning journey with me. How can I view their progress?
- Log into your email account and open the message from hello@safedrivingforlife.info
- Click the link in the body of the email message.
- Your browser should open the Safe Driving for Life website. If you don’t have an account, you’ll need to create one to continue.
- Once you’ve created your account, click on ‘my learners’ to view your friend/family member’s progress.

How do I send gifts to other people?
To send eLearning gifts to other people:
- Click the ‘shop’ link in the top menu
- Browse for the product you’d like to buy
- Click the ‘buy as gift’ button
- Enter the recipients name and email address, as well as the date the gift should be sent.
You can also personalise your gift by including a message with the email.
I’ve placed an order but I haven’t received anything...what do I do next?
If you purchase a subscription to any of our eLearning products then you’ll receive confirmation of purchase via email.
You can also check whether your subscription is live. To do this:
- Log into your Safe Driving for Life account
- Click on ‘my learning’.
The DVSA course (s) you’re subscribed to should be listed on this page.
Books and other items
If you’ve bought other products such as books or L-plates, detailed information about order delivery times are available on the Safe Driving for Life Shop.
We make every effort to fulfil orders by the delivery times specified at the point of purchase. However, sometimes due to circumstances beyond our control, your items may arrive later than scheduled. If this happens, please contact customer services using the details below.
